Map the Beringia Centre Challenge!

Sunday, February 25 – 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm   Map the Beringia Centre Challenge

Come and practice your mapping skills at the Beringia Centre!

All good scientists need to know how to use maps when out in “the field”. Biologists, anthropologists, archeologists (and more!) all depend heavily on maps to guide them through their research locations and findings. Hunters, hikers, fishers, campers, road trippers, and mushers do too.

Kids are invited to participate in the “Map the Beringia Centre Challenge."  After being given a designated amount of time to investigate the Beringia Centre and all of its dimensions and exhibits participants will draw a map from memory. Maps will go on display for two weeks and visitors will be invited to vote for the most interesting map.

We will also have a variety of maps for everyone to look at (Whitehorse, Yukon, Beringia, Canada and beyond).

Come and practice essential skills for adventuring in science, research, Yukon and beyond!  Recommended for ages 7+ (but younger kids are welcome to work closely with their parents).  Admission is free in celebration of Rendezvous!
