Education Corner
The Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre is an ideal facility to provide students of all ages with the opportunity to explore Yukon's recent prehistory.
A major focus of the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre is education. The Centre works closely with educators in the development of curriculum driven programs. We encourage educators to freely use this site and to share lesson plans with other instructors. Please feel free to email your lesson plans to us for inclusion on this website at beringia@gov.yk.ca.
Bringing Beringia to the Classroom
Who: K-12 schools in Whitehorse
What: Interactive class presentations at your school led by experienced Beringia staff with an outdoor component of Atlatl dart throwing. Sessions will be individualized to your class needs. Generally allow for at least one hour.
When: Now until May 4 and then again in the fall starting on September 17.
Why: To show Yukon students how exciting pre-history in the Yukon really was!
